Elision Health
How Invest Leicestershire helped to create new jobs in Leicester and Leicestershire by helping an innovative company - formed to accelerate reform and leadership in healthcare organisations - to establish a new HQ and Leadership Centre in the city and county.
Elision Health was founded in 2006 as an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of patients and healthcare staff - ‘Putting patients first'. At its core is the mission to radically transform healthcare delivery through enabling the rediscovery of lost values and the regeneration of clinical leadership, building on the principles of compassion, co-operation and inspiration.
The company's goal is to create a great healthcare enterprise - one that is absolutely dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare for individual patients, and has a reputation for genuinely and effectively supporting healthcare organisations as they advance standards of care.
Company puts down roots in Leicestershire
In 2006, former Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England, Professor Aidan Halligan, formed Elision Health with the backing of the Elision Group.
Chris Betts, Chief Operating Officer for Elision Health takes up the story: "In the embryonic stages of the company, the business was driven by Professor Halligan and Ron Cullen, the Managing Director.
"Despite his earlier national role, Professor Halligan still lived in Leicestershire, having previously worked at the University of Leicester and Leicester Royal Infirmary. Consequently, the company initially operated out of serviced office accommodation in Glenfield, Leicestershire while we looked for a permanent headquarters and Leadership Centre for training and development."
Successful property search
Elision Health worked alongside Invest Leicestershire to find the serviced offices and to help with the search for a suitable permanent location, the company again turned to Invest Leicestershire.
Invest Leicestershire is the inward investment agency for Leicester and Leicestershire and provides a free, confidential business relocation advisory service for companies considering the destination as a business location.
Chris Betts continues: "We looked at a number of properties including new builds in the city centre but when Invest Leicestershire recommended Blaby Hall in Blaby, Leicestershire, we knew that it would be perfect for our UK headquarters. It was an old building but was the ideal size and had just the right aesthetic about it. It's also easily accessible - close to the M1 motorway network and around 20 minutes away from the railway station."
