Headquartered in New York, EndoSoft has a European office in the Netherlands, with other global locations in Dubai, India, Canada, and Russia. To continue its business growth and momentum in Europe, EndoSoft took a business decision in 2004 to open a new office in the UK.
Starting the search for suitable premises
Bart van der Meer, EndoSoft's Vice President Marketing & Sales, Europe, Africa & Middle East, takes up the story: "The company started off as a laboratory equipment distributor in India and rapidly expanded to form a US operation. "We are committed to providing 24x7 support for our products. Although this can be largely achieved remotely through our US and Indian operations, as we began to secure installations across Europe - most notably in the Netherlands, UK and Ireland - it became clear that we needed more local support."
However, it wasn't until after the British Society of Gastroenterology conference, held in Birmingham in March 2006, that the company began to search in earnest for a base for its first UK office.
Bart van der Meer continues: "After the conference, we remained in the UK to look for possible locations. After rejecting the obvious choice of London, based upon the expense of rented premises and the difficulty of access for those of us commuting from outside of the city and often, the UK itself, we narrowed our search down to a central location.
"Given the need for an easy route into the office from a local airport, East Midlands Airport was our next selection and after finding no suitable premises close to the airport itself, we widened our search."
