After Work...Rest and Play

Having your business located in the area doesn't mean it's all work, work, work. (Although, as you've probably read by now you can work very successfully in Leicestershire!) Leicestershire is a unique place to live, and its multi-cultural heritage makes it a vibrant and colourful city and county that can cater for any lifestyle.

Whether you're looking for the quiet life or something more vibrant, Leicestershire has it all...

The countryside is easily accessible from the major employment areas in both the city and county offering an array of outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling or horse-riding in The National Forest and in breathtaking Leicestershire countryside. There's also a choice of more than 31 golf courses.

Family Attractions

There's lots for the family with country parks, beautiful market towns and major visitor attractions including the National Space Centre, Twycross Zoo, Conkers and the Great Central Railway. There's also an opportunity to experience ancient castles, trace the city's Roman and industrial heritage, or discover the story of the last English King to die in battle at Bosworth Battlefield.

High octane

Leicestershire also has TWO motor racing circuits - Mallory Park and Donington Park, home to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix from 2010. Bruntingthorpe (home of the iconic Vulcan Bomber) and Prestwold offer driving experiences, from anything from a classic Aston Martin, through to modern Supercars and even a Formula 1 car. There is also aerobatics opportunities and even a simulated tank battles using an old WW2 bombing range!

If you want to eat out, you can experience anything from traditional country and gastro pubs to top class restaurants serving award-winning cuisine. Or perhaps you could head for Leicester, the official Curry Capital of Britain, to enjoy delicious Indian gastronomy.

Rich in culture and theatre, Leicester is also home to the new £60 million state-of-the-art Curve theatre, and the UK's newest digital media centre, Phoenix Square, opening this autumn.

Testimonials

  • Aardman Animations

Leicestershire gave me the best creative grounding that I could wish for. Making my first film at school, working with the Phoenix Youth Theatre and my initial training at Loughborough Art College nurtured my love of film and animation.

Leicester has always had a strong culture of Music, Arts and Theatre . There is enormous energy and talent in the city and with the new developments and cultural investments that are taking place it is firmly on the digital map.
