By Rail...

As with other major European Cities, Leicester benefits from excellent rail links. In fact, a traveller from London can reach any of Leicestershire's railway stations without changing trains.

And travelling from Leicestershire towards London, you can simply change platforms and board the Eurostar heading for Paris, Brussels or Lille. The total travel time from Leicester to central Paris is under 4 hours. Even shorter to Brussels or Lille.

Connectivity with London St Pancras is strong with Market Harborough and Loughborough having two trains per hour and Leicester having up to four trains per hour, and it also benefits as being the first City on the main line outside London. From London St Pancras, the Eurostar service offers 17 trains per day to Paris and 10 trains per day to Brussels.

And in the future, it is planned that London's Crossrail will connect with St. Pancras international, enabling people from Leicester to travel to London Heathrow airport with a single platform change.

Testimonials

  • Aardman Animations

Leicestershire gave me the best creative grounding that I could wish for. Making my first film at school, working with the Phoenix Youth Theatre and my initial training at Loughborough Art College nurtured my love of film and animation.

Leicester has always had a strong culture of Music, Arts and Theatre . There is enormous energy and talent in the city and with the new developments and cultural investments that are taking place it is firmly on the digital map.
